Pork, the other white meat and the cheap one at that is the meat for today's dinner menu.
This recipe will taste just like mom used to make because it is mom's recipe for baked pork tenderloin.

Baked Pork Tenderloin

2 small pork tenderloins (not cut)
Salt and pepper
Flour
2Tablespoons oil
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
1 envelope Lipton mushroom soup mix
1 1/2 cup water

Season tenderloins with salt and pepper and roll in flour. Brown on all sides in oil. Remove to shallow baking dish. Lightly brown celery and onion in drippings. Pour over meat. Combine soup mix and water; pour over meat. Cover and let stand in the refrigerator for as long as you can--the earlier you remember to do this the more steeped in flavor it will be. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done.

Serve this with your regular noodles and some microwaved veggies and you've got yourself a meal. This one is particularly NOT recommended for the sensitive pallets out there............

But seriously, there are several items which can be cooked in advance to use as cooking platforms. One of my favorite is any kind of pasta. If you cook it just to al dente the first night you use it, then drain it before serving up for dinner, you can then use a microwave to heat water to boiling on the next night you need noodles, and have them in 4 minutes time (3 mins Microwave + 1 min to soak pasta in hot water.) Some folks heat the pasta directly, but it comes out too rubbery for my liking. Those almost cooked noodles will definitely go 5 nights and may even go longer. Currently, I am experimenting with vegetables and will get back to you on those as tests results come out, but spaghetti sauce will definitely last as long as the pasta.

How do can you tell a stay at home dad? The minivan has a duct tape and wd-40 in it.

Hello. I'm a stay-at-home Dad who has found a real passion for cooking--this is probably a good idea given how much I like to eat (but that's between me and the gym weighscale). The purpose of this blog will be to pass along any good ideas I find to help others--male or female--to figure out what on Earth to feed everyone for supper tonight.
